In Ibiza, 100 kids from 3 near by sailing schools arrived on the dock before racing in order to meet the sailors and step on the catamarans and experience the professional sailing scene.  These are moments in a kid’s life that they will never forget. Maybe, one or two of those kids got inspired yesterday to become the next Ian Williams or Chris Rast or they were excited about one day owning a M32.  Giving the kids a chance to have experiences and dream is something we can always do more in sailing. There is no greater gift then seeing a child eyes light up with joy and motivation to become something great!

Both our teams are still doing well.  In Luino, the EFG Team is on top of the podium with a 9 point cushion to the 2nd place team FGF. The 2nd place team FGF is a relatively young team that has joined the Quantum Sails wave. We are super happy to have them a part the Quantum team. It has been fun sailing against them and watching them climb up to the podium throughout the summer, well done guys! Our team EFG, had a solid day scoring 5-1-3. One more day of racing left!

More exciting racing in Ibiza, Section 16 started off the day with another bullet! 7 races were sailed today in the same racing area with similar breeze.

Ian Williams and his team on board GAC Pindar showed the rest of the fleet how these boats are supposed to be sailed. They put 5 bullets on board and are now 9 points ahead of Section 16.
All was looking like a great day for Section 16 until the last race of the day when disaster struck. Section 16 was chasing down Team Italia on the last downwind leg when both boats failed to notice Typhoon X coming upwind. Luckily both Team Italia and Section 16 were able to avoid a major collision at the last second. Unfortunately Section 16 did receive a 2 point penalty as there was minor contact between both boats.
For the last day of racing the goal is clear for Section 16. They must keep at least one boat between them and Team Italia in order to win the overall Series of 2016. The forecast looks look with plenty of wind, so game on!
